As I lay awake at night I jerk
I find myself in a strange place
moving so fast it disappears
lacking control I began to fall
I never land anywhere or get hurt
pages are flipping with objects unclear
to my wired up skin
I see it my hands have gone numb asleep
I shake it off then all becomes clear
my eyes open and my nightmare appears
sunshine makes me cold and damp
I put on my mask
clothe my skin and reach for the door
and then and then alone
I see that life isn't out there
off to my room I strip down and crawl in the bed
close my eyes and get back in my head
to me this is living because out there I am scared
